Recognise and Respond appropriately to Domestic and Family Violence
This unit can be completed on its own. It is also a requirement of the Certificate IV in Relationship Education (also offered by Relationships Australia).
This unit addresses the knowledge and skills required to identify and respond to domestic and family violence during professional contact with clients.
Topics covered include:
• Knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence within a range of communities
• Awareness of the impact of violence on individuals (including children), families and communities
• Developing confidence whilst responding appropriately to support clients affected by violence
• Understanding the legal requirements and organisational standards of appropriate intervention
• Assessing risk of harm and maximising safety for workers, clients and others
• Providing relevant and timely information and referrals
This unit CHCDFV301A is delivered over two consecutive days. It is recognised training. When assessment requirements are successfully completed a Statement of Attainment will be issued. Participants can choose to attend the training but not complete the assessments and therefore not receive a Statement of Attainment (and receive a discount).
